 | Sunday 07 March 2010 - 21:42:13 in Match Reports
Woottons 1 West Winch 0
Winch came out of the blocks first half and controlled the game, limiting Woottons to one chance which produced a great save from Archie. Midfield of Tom,Karl, Elliot and Charlie totally controlled the game producing some great set plays and through balls for the strikers. But we couldn't find the finish to take a deserved lead into half time.
Second half we were against the slope which didn't stop us controlling the game. But it did create the one difference, a mistimed bounce let Woottons in for their only chance of the second half and they managed to get the finish.
Winch then went and produced chance after chance. But on the day cup football is about goals and we couldn't get the finish today and they managed to get the inportant one goal.
Overall I can't fault the effort today from anyone. From the off, our midfield of Tom, Karl, Elliot and Charlie closed Woottons down and set up a hatful of chances. They put tackles in at the inportant moments and chased and won everything.
Dom, Stephen, Owen and Ethan played some quality balls out of the back, all confident on the ball. Archie produced a quality save first half and his kickng was quality. Up front Paul and Jordan both worked hard, didn't give up.
Back to the league next week, 10 games left. TARGET 10 WINS!!!!!!
