New manager needed for under 9 team

We have an opportunity for an enthusiastic and committed individual to take on one of our under 9 teams this season.

The Club are very fortunate to have a large number of children who have been playing together now for three seasons, along with some willing coaches to train them and as a result we have the chance to enter two teams into the Mid Norfolk Youth League this year. However, we do need a manager for the second team.

West Winch JFC are an FA Charter Standard Club, therefore commit to put all it's managers through the FA Level 1 course in football coaching, which means you will be to obtain recognized qualification. In addition, we will pay for an obligatory CRB check and provide you with a standard managers pack to enable you to deliver training sessions.

West Winch Tournament 2010 results

On behalf of the Junior FC committee, we would once again like to express our thanks to everyone who helped to make this years tournament on 18th July another resounding success.

The efforts of the referees and volunteers on the day are invaluable in ensuring the smooth running of the event, in addition to Reffley JFC who loaned goals and the William Burt Social Club for allowing us to use their facilities on the day. We were also fortunate to obtain sponsorship for many of the trophies this year and for that wish to thank the sponsors secured by Carl Carter, including Kirk CoachWorks, Truck East, Carter Haulage and Barrys Cars.

The participating teams all played their roles in providing another entertaining and exciting day and we would like to thank their managers and coaches for supporting our event.

The tournament is a very important fund raiser each year for the Club and gives us the opportunity to put on a spectacle for everyone to enjoy.

Thanks again and we look forward to more of the same next July!

2010 West Winch Tournament

This Sunday 18th July is the annual West Winch Junior tournament, with age groups from U7 to U16 taking part.

Please note that the start time for all age groups except the under 7's has been brought forward to 10am, rather than
10.30, to accommodate a new competition format. Therefore, note that all teams must be registered by 9.30.

The under 7's are still starting at 10.30.

Parking is limited close to the field so please use the surrounding roads with consideration to residents.

Other than that, enjoy the day and we look forward to seeing everyone there!

The Mid-Norfolk Under 13 league Champions and Cup finalists are holding trials for next season on Tuesday 22nd June at West Winch playing field.

Starting at 6pm, please bring shin pads and boots/astroturf trainers.

Website hit by hackers

Last weekend, the JFC website and many others that use the same
software were attacked by parties unknown, which is why it has been
unavailable for the last few days.

We're now back up and jogging, if not exactly running. There may be one
or two glitches while we finish the upgrades but please bear with us.

Annual Generation Meeting - Friday 4th June

Club Presentation Night

A reminder to everyone that we are holding our Presentation Night for the season on Friday 28th May at the William Burt Social Club. Doors open at 7pm, with the presentation to start at 7.30pm.

Entry to the presentation itself will be free to players, while friends and family will be charged £1 on the door. Space is limited so make sure you arrive early. Following the presentation, there will be a disco and BBQ plus a raffle and other events during the evening.

Destination Morocco

West Winch Primary school are supporting a community project organised by pupils and staff from Eccles Primary School.

Destination Morocco aims to provide a playground shelter for a village school in Imlil, where the children are only able to attend school for half-day sessions as they don’t have the resources to allow the children to stay all day.

The children are also mad about football, and the community project is appealing for old unwanted strips which will be taken out to the children.

If you have any kit that you would like to donate to this project, please can you bring it into the main school office.

Well done to Dave Maynard and his squad for securing the league last night, with a 2-1 win away at North Lynn.

They have now secured the double following victory over Reffley in the Cup Final last month.

St Georges Day Race Night

The William Burt Social Club is hosting a Race Night this Friday, 23rd April to celebrate St Georges Day.

A Fish & Chip van will be on site from 8.45.

Two new English Real Ales will be available with Free Tasters.

Starting 8pm bar open till Midnight
Races start at 8pm, everyone is welcome!
