The Junior Football Club were extremely grateful this month to receive a donation of £320 from Martin Edmunds, raised through sponsorship of his participation in the GEAR 10K run around Kings Lynn town centre on May 3rd.
Martin ran a very respectable time of 44 minutes in the process and is now in training for the Great Northern Run in September.

Football boots are very expensive, and unfortunately, youngsters can and do get through at least a pair a season.
We are looking to recycle old pairs of football boots at our tournament this year. We will just ask for a minimum donation per pair, which will go to the Club, and will hopefully ensure some of those boots get a bit more wear.
If you have any pairs of football boots that no longer fit, rather than throw them away, please donate them to the Club. Either bring them along on the day, or hand them to one of the Managers.
Thank you.

The Parish needs you to help save 3.2 acres of the village playing field adjacent to the William Burt Social Club from being offered for sale by Zurich Insurance. The strip of land in question is 70 metres wide and runs from the start of the fencing to Long Lane.
The Parish has been given first refusal before the land goes for sale on the open market. The Parish Council has made an offer of £11,000 which we hope they will accept. Once a price is agreed we need to raise money quickly to purchase the land.
If this piece of land was sold to an outsider, then this could involve the loss of football pitches, the skate park, half of the childrens play area and the dog walking area. These facilities provide much pleasure and enjoyment to many of you parishoners.
Your Parish Council is trying hard to obtain grants and loans but time is a big problem as Zurich and their Agents are looking for a quick sale.
How can you help save the field? We are asking all residents to pledge that they will hold fund raising events or give donations to save our field once a price is finally agreed with Zurich and their agents.
Any money raised will avoid next years parish precept being increased to cover this expenditure.
If you would like further information or to pledge or give a donation to this cause then please ring the Parish Council Chairman, Joe Sandey on 01553 841452, call in with a donation to West Winch Post Office, contact John Moran on 01553 840059 or speak to any Parish Councillor.
Please make any cheques payable to "West Winch Parish Council". These may also be posted to Mr Sandey at 216 Mail Road, West Winch PE33 0NP.
The Parish Council meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month and residents are very welcome to come along to a meeting and have their say on this or any other | |
